Mirror, Mirror on the Wall.
VANITY
MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL, VANITY IS RISING
VANITY IS RISING
VANITY IS RISING
VANITY WILL FAIL
VANITY WILL FAIL

"How you have fallen from heaven,
O Morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart,
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High,
but you are brought down to the grave
to the depths of the pit.
Those who see you stare at you,
they ponder your fate:
Is this the man who shook the Earth?"
Isaiah 14
Vanity is all around us. It is in the music videos we watch, the video games we play and of course on our jobs even in our conservations so its hard not to feel the vein of vanity in us. We are all human fallen from grace and then saved by grace (Christ) but we still have faults, ulterior motives, a fantasy and drive for fame, recognition and adoration for those that have achieved it.
Self image is all around us. It's in the magazines we read, How to lose ten pounds and look your best ever! How to make that man sweat! Ten sizzling bikinis to heat up the summer. How tos, what nots and body enhancers the list goes on. Then we click on the TV and see our comparison mirrors. Celebrities. They sometimes provide an unhealthy self reflection. "I can look like her if I just had a better wardrobe. If I just lose ten pounds, if I was curvy, if I was slim, if I was taller, if I was tone. I can be famous like him but , I can train like him but...we sit there and compare ourselves as we idolize our culture's interpretation of beauty.
Don't get me wrong everyone likes to feel attractive, there is no harm in receiving compliments taking care of yourself, feeling and looking and doing your best. The sin is when you believe you are better than others. The death sentence is when we start to place value for things and attention above God. When we begin to believe our extraordinary talent , our attractiveness and remarkable abilities derives from us and not the one and true source of life.
That's when we have a problem. No matter how far we ascend in our careers, how many friendships and connections we make... we can feel like we are on top of the world just like the once gorgeous multi talented angel of music named Lucifer.
All who know his story know the ending to the tale of vanity, we know the fall is coming shortly after.. if we don't take our eyes off the mirror and place them on God. Self worship is what this world glorifies but true worshippers know "the ancient of days" can crumble the world with his mighty fist before our next breath, that's if he wanted to..
When you think of Lucifer you don't think of beauty beyond description you think of horns and a long tail, a creature of the night.
Lucifer was the most beautiful angel in heaven. He didn't play music. He was music! God delighted in his creation but his creation became a creature that lusted for his creator's throne so he planned to dethrone God!
And Failed! How can a creation rule over its creator? How can a creation think its value outweighs its creator? How can the creation think they created the creator? Ludicrous right? Well, its happening everyday. The heart of man denies his creator and worships himself. He believes and wants to be the center of attention when he should be centering his attention to the one who sits at the center of the universe.
We are not the centers of the universe that we think we are but only shadows that are passing through this planet. What purpose would we serve if we didn't worship God in this lifetime? We would be glorifying the angel of darkness not the angel of light. Our life would be in vain. So I don't know about you but when I look in the mirror I don't want to see flawed and imperfect Camille with her hangups and issues but the perfect, flawless, humble Christ that lives on the inside making her perfect in HIM.
To God be All the GLORY!
"The Cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives FOREVER..." 1John 2:16 &17

A Man on FIRE!
distinguished among ten thousand.
His head is the finest gold;
his locks are wavy,
black as a raven.

His eyes are like doves
beside streams of water bathed in milksitting beside a full pool.
His cheeks are like beds of spices,
mounds of sweet smelling herbs.
His lips are lilies,
dripping liquid myrrh

His arms are rods of gold
set with jewels.
His body is polished ivory
bedecked with sapphires.
His legs are alabaster columns
set on bases of gold. His appearance is like Lebanon
choice as the cedars.
His mouth is most sweet
and he is altogether desirable.
This is my beloved and this is my FRIEND.
Song of Solomon 5: 10-16
W.O.W. A godly man is the only man I desire!
So romantic. Simply my favorite poem/song in the Bible. It truly is a love story. Passion and devotion is on her tongue and in her heart. What I like about this scripture is that it is twofold. If you are single you can express this passion for Jesus and when you wed you express this love for your "sexy" husband. The bible is full of love, dripping with passion. God wants us to love with unbroken desire but to the one he built just for us (inside and out). This guy has to be cleansed and renewed with God's spirit to love you the way you deserve to be loved. The only way you get closer to meeting him is if you get to know more about the one who made him. Two loves for the price of one. Thank you Jesus. Truly Devoted.
Now he just has to find me ;)

A MAN TO MEET MY MOUNTAIN

A Man to Meet My Mountain
Among the valley of many
Here I stand
In the midnight muddy moss
Here I crawl
Through the dense uphill climb
Here I am
Among me there are beasts bold, brazen ready to take my life lest I fall
They creep they lurk hungry in the shadows
I pause in place unsure
There is a rushing wind
I trust and I know I’m not alone
Past the spiral turns, beyond the steep cliffs I find my courage
Through scorched skin and dusty air there is an upward tug
I feel secure, safe for travel
Prepared for the clouds ahead
I move forward to meet him
Sure enough he is there
Along the beaten path his arm reaches for mine
When darkness falls he pulls me up
He leads me with loving footsteps
Skin smoothed by his touch, his gentleness his devotion
With aching limbs I follow him up the mountain
With flowing wisdom from above he carries me
The mountain is sharp and rugged
We stumble, we crawl, we scratch, we fall
But never separate
Higher and Higher we ascend
Into the light of lights
Down in the dark valley old friends call
They beckon, they reach,
Accusations fly, stones soar…
Our mountain stands unscathed
We are still climbing
Bruised, battered bodies
But renewed, restored spirits arise
There is a longing to reach the top
There is a pinnacle of peace for the two of us,
So together we climb,
This man and I.
Alone, the peak is promised
United a universe beckons

WISDOM WEDNESDAY: LET US RULE SO WE CAN SERVE . LET US SERVE SO WE CAN RULE...
At the closing chapter of this lifetime Christians will rule the earth! However this generation has seen only a small percentage of believers at the top of the Forbes list. Why is that? Why are so many of us broke, then sufficient and then broke again? Why is monetary wealth so hard for a Christian to obtain? We must look at our hearts to find the source of the problem. Why do we want to rule for fame, acknowledgement, pride, to exclude, to gloat? All of these reasons are not of God. God wants us to rule so we can serve him and his people.
He wants us to not only have the heart of a servant but the influence and wisdom of a great ruler. He wants us to be wealthy and prosperous: mind, body, spirit as well as property: so that we can be generous to those who suffer without the faith (those rich and poor).
David says in Psalms 51 "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you..."

David was king of all Israel. He could do anything he wanted without having to face the consequences of his actions. He was the King! But King David was different from most kings he didn't rule with an iron fist but with an honest and pure heart. He served the one and true living God. He knew all favor and grace came from him. He asked God for forgiveness for his sins not so that he could just be guilt free but also so he could teach others. He wanted to be a good leader. A leader that was willing to a good example. He wanted to experience God's mercy so he could know what it felt like to be washed clean when he felt filthy and ragged. How could he relate to the unclean if he wasn't unclean himself? He wanted to experience God's love for only with God's love can we serve God's people. Only with God's anointing can we bless others. Only when we fallen from grace (all w/out the blood of Jesus) can we testify about God's redeeming blood. We have to experience the life of a servant in order to rule the way Jesus rules. Jesus was the ultimate servant, he became the sacrificial lamb so that now we can rule with him on earth and in heaven!
With God all things are possible and all things are made new in him. He is the only God that transforms filth into riches, that takes a mortal and makes him gloriously immortal. He is the only God that speaks, moves and creates as I write this he is speaking, moving and creating new wonders. So if you are confused, lost and abandoned you have the privilege of going to God like David, (a king with a servant's heart) he will hold nothing back from you. Why? because he loves you that much. He wants to give you more & more ...Once you have more you can give more. Once your self esteem is enlarged you can pour into someone else's self esteem. Once you have more money in your bank account you can pour wealth into someone else's bank account. Once you have wisdom you can pour wisdom into the heart and soul of another. Ruling is not about dominating it is about giving/serving. King David was able to bless the children of Israel because he gave his all to God. Go before God with an honest heart, ask him to renew you, to give you the wisdom of King Solomon, ask him to make you a mouthpiece for the Kingdom of Heaven so that when you serve you make an impact on not just a few but multitudes. All for the Glory of God.
